AI Use & Automated Processing Disclosure
Effective July 26, 2026
Altyst uses artificial intelligence responsibly and transparently. This disclosure explains exactly what AI does in the Service, what it does not do, and how your data is handled. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service.
1. What AI does — and does not do
- AI reads and proposes. Altyst uses AI (Anthropic Claude models) to read
uploaded documents (offering memoranda, rent rolls, T-12s, leases) and listing information to extract facts, normalize them, reconcile conflicting sources, and propose editable assumptions. Each AI-derived value carries a source, a confidence, and provenance.
- Deterministic code computes. All investment mathematics — cash flow, NOI, IRR,
equity multiple, debt service, sensitivities, and exports — is produced by Altyst's deterministic engine, not by an AI model. AI is never the authoritative calculator, and no model-generated financial result is accepted without a deterministic recompute.
- You decide. Extracted facts and proposed assumptions are **editable and unverified
until you confirm them**. Nothing is treated as verified until you say so.
2. Models and data handling
- The Service routes to Anthropic Claude models through a server-side API key (the key
never touches your browser). AI usage telemetry recorded by Altyst is content-free (model, token counts, cost, timing) — not prompts, document contents, or your figures.
- Document text and prompts derived from your uploads are sent to the AI subprocessor
only at extraction/analysis time, for the sole purpose of serving your request. We do not use Your Content to train third-party or foundation models. See the Subprocessors and Privacy Policy.
3. Human oversight; no significant automated decisions about people
Altyst's AI is assistive, not autonomous: it extracts and proposes; a person reviews and confirms before anything is trusted, and the deterministic engine — not the AI — produces every financial result. Altyst does not use AI to make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about individuals (for example, credit, employment, insurance, or housing eligibility). Consistent with regulatory guidance, our public claims describe only what the product actually does and do not overstate the AI's role, accuracy, or autonomy.
4. Limitations
AI extraction can be wrong, incomplete, or miss context. Verify every material figure against the source document before relying on it. Outputs are for internal screening only and are not professional advice — see the Warranty Disclaimer.
